Sowing seeds with the Paris Anim’ centre (CLAJE)

This Wednesday afternoon, the children from the Paris Anim centre (CLAJE) came to the Traversine de Villiot garden for a sowing activity.

We provided them with mini greenhouses, composed of a equipped with a water reserve, a seedling tray and a translucent cover.
The children followed the recommendations given to them to ensure the best possible development for their precious seeds:

• Fill the trays with sieved potting soil,
• Pack the mould well so that compact clumps can be removed once the plants have taken root.
• Put a little water in the reservoir at the bottom of the trays.

Once these tasks had been completed, the children used their fingers to make small holes for the seeds, the depth of which should be twice the size of the seed to be planted. The CLAJE children successfully followed all these steps with carnation, okra, pepper and tomato seeds !
