At Levi’s Nek farm, livestock farming plays an important role in the economic and ecological balance of the site:
Wool production is an important resource as spring approaches. The regular birth of lambs also means that some animals can be sold. Finally, the sheep provide a regular supply of manure, which is used to enrich the vegetable garden plots. The animals graze on the farm’s pastures during the day, then return in the evening to a secure enclosure, which they share with the chickens. This arrangement promotes both their welfare and the sustainable management of the farm’s resources.
