The Traversine Bercy team has undertaken to raise the lowest planters surrounding the star-shaped garden by a few centimetres.
To meet safety requirements, the weight of the planters must be kept to a minimum so that they can be easily moved if needed. This raised edging helps retain the layer of mulch applied to the surface of the planting beds, reducing evaporation and preserving soil moisture.
The children actively took part in the activity alongside the facilitators, screwing wooden battens onto the edges of the planters.
A collaborative and educational project combining DIY, gardening, and environmental awareness.
