Reorganisation of the Popenguine greenhouse, Senegal

After a difficult period caused by a pump failure that discouraged many women in the collective, the Popenguine market gardening area is regaining momentum. With access to water now restored, teams from Nebeday and The Ivory Foundation spent three days supporting the relaunch of the activity, in the presence of all the beneficiaries.
The programme included reorganising the management of the greenhouse, the nursery and the seed production programme. The women were divided into eight groups, and an eight-day rota was established to ensure the greenhouse was maintained without interruption.
An organisation chart at the entrance to the greenhouse and a daily attendance register will now enable better coordination of the work and a revival of production.
