The young residents of Levi’s Nek had the opportunity to try their hand at growing cowpeas, a bean that is highly prized in West Africa for its leaves and seeds. Dried beans are widely consumed in southern Africa, so the youngsters were delighted to discover this new species. They were able to experiment with cooking with cowpea leaves, adding a new dimension to their culinary knowledge.
