Expansion of the nursery at Halfway House Roosboom, South Africa

At Halfway House Roosboom, the nursery continues to expand to meet the growing needs of the vegetable garden.

The small greenhouse dedicated to seedling production already had two growing trays, fitted with removable dividers to organise the seedlings efficiently.

To increase production capacity, two new four-metre-long trays have been built. Thanks to the tools provided by the association, the gardeners constructed these new structures themselves, thereby strengthening their skills and independence.

Removable covers have also been installed: these protect the young plants from external damage whilst limiting the impact of the sun, creating conditions more favourable to their development. This extension enables the production of more seedlings to sustainably supply the garden and secure future crops.
