Creation of a herb garden at Roosboom Halfway House

The children at Roosboom Halfway House have created a herb garden in the vegetable garden of the halfway house.

After preparing the ground and loosening the soil, they carefully planted young seedlings of sage, lavender, rosemary, thyme, chives and mint near the house.

This location has two advantages: the herbs are easily accessible for maintenance, so they can be observed, watered and cared for on a daily basis.

They are also just a stone’s throw from the kitchen, and will enrich daily meals with fresh, natural flavours.
