Thebe Magugu’s visit in Roosboom

The South African fashion designer Thebe Magugu, went to Roosboom to visit Desining Hope’s Half Way House in February 2020. He discovered the outdoor exhibition of his creations photographed by Aart Verrips on scarecrows, in the open fields.

This exhibition inspired the Half Way House’s children, who produced a scarecrow and placed it in the center of the mandala in their garden.

They presented their creation to Thebe and performed a choreography around the mandala in honor of his visit. …

An exhibition, similar to this outdoor exhibition, was held in France in December 2019, at Galery Umcebo.
Photographs were sold to the benefit of Designing Hope to help finance the distribution of school uniforms to disadvantaged children. Read more here
