Some news about the herbal spiral of the Grand Potager

At the Grand Potager of Lauris, the Mediterranean climate is favourable to the cultivation of aromatic plants. This is why a spiral of aromatic herbs was developed in the spring of 2019. And it is developing wonderfully well!

This structure, due to its layout, makes it possible to create on the same site a multitude of microclimates, land, exposure and humidity favorable to the cultivation of a large number of herbs:

-At the top, where the soil is drier, we find lavender, hyssop, savory, thyme, sage or rosemary.

-Along the slope, tarragon, chervil or basil can be grown.

-At the foot of the structure where the soil is cooler and richer, oregano, dill, basil, chives, mint or lemon balm flourish.

A nice illustration of permaculture techniques that ensure better management of water, heat and space!
