The Ivory Foundation has supported the establishment of this project, financing the installation of a greenhouse for seed production, in collaboration with Agrosemens and the Fondation Marie-Pierre Crosnier Mangeat. There are many encouraging signs that this project is getting closer to its goal of producing local seeds for generations to come.
Thousands of seeds have been harvested from several 2nd and 3rd generation Agrosemens varieties. Some of the tomatoes have been planted in nurseries, and a plot dedicated to this crop has produced an abundance of vegetables this season. In all, some ten species were successfully reproduced, generating significant quantities of seed.
