The young residents of the farm of Levi’s Nek have started preparing their maize seedlings. To do this, they make a mixture of manure previously sieved on a perforated sheet, to which they incorporate biochar, produced with the support of The Ivory Foundation in Eswatini, as well as compost.
Once this mixture has been made, they add the maize seeds. They can then load the farm’s horse-drawn seed drill with this mixture to fill in their furrows.
