The houses designed to accommodate the most independent deaf and hard-of-hearing young people at the Levi’s Nek educational farm in Lesotho are now nearing completion. These small dwellings, designed to offer each resident their own independent living space, mark an important milestone in the project to support these young people.
The final stage of this project involves installing the roofing and gutters. Once completed, these houses will enable young people to gain independence while remaining integrated into farm life. This new development illustrates the desire to make Levi’s Nek not only a place of agricultural production, but also a true living environment that promotes the fulfilment and long-term future of the deaf and hard-of-hearing young people who reside there.
