One of the goals of the Macambeni Garden is to provide fresh vegetables to complement the meals served to children at the Orphan Day Care Center in this disadvantaged neighborhood.
Elderly women in the neighborhood are in charge of preparing a porridge in the morning and a hot meal served at noon.
A large cauldron located outside the center under a covered shelter is used for the preparation of meals.
Meals are served in the activity room.
