At the Traversine Bercy garden, school children are actively involved in growing strawberries on the roof terrace.
After transplanting the runners into new trays in the autumn and helping with weeding, maintenance and watering throughout the year, they were able to enjoy the fruits of their labor!
Every week, between late April and early June, they harvest sweet fruit, gorged with the abundant sunshine on the roof terrace, which offers an incomparable taste, rewarding the efforts of the young gardeners.
This activity helps them understand the cycle of nature and the importance of regular vegetable garden maintenance. The harvests are shared between the children and the school staff, reinforcing cohesion within the school. In this way, the garden becomes a place for learning, sharing and tasting pleasure.
