Roosboom, South Africa

In Roosboom, the nurseries at Halfway House are working flat out!
Local teams are successfully propagating spinach plants, which have been carefully sown, transplanted and tended by young people at the centre.
The women in charge of the vegetable garden are busy transplanting hundreds of seedlings into the production greenhouse, where they can grow in optimal conditions before being harvested. Once ready, the spinach will be incorporated into meals prepared for the children at the centre, providing an essential source of vitamins
and nutrients for their daily diet.

A project run by Designing Hope with the support of The Ivory Foundation and the Bel Foundation
