Installed in 2018 by The Ivory Foundation near the Dawady health centre, the greenhouse in the market gardening area plays a key role in producing seeds and vegetables to provide nutritional support for families and pregnant women monitored by the health centre.
The greenhouse covering fabric is particularly hard-worn in Dawady. Strong gusts of wind and winter rains, combined with intense heat, gradually weaken the covering.
In this context, the fabric has deteriorated and torn along its entire length, making its replacement essential.
A replacement roll was sent from Dakar to restore the greenhouse. The upholsterer worked on site to sew and attach the new covering directly to the structure.
Nylon ropes will also be added to reinforce the installation’s resistance to wind and secure the crops in the long term.
