Preparing the growing beds in the Halfway House garden

To ensure the preparation and maintenance of the garden at Roosboom’s Halfway House, which has now doubled in size, a new team has been set up, reinforced by 4 women and 2 men from Roosboom.

They work 3 days a week in shifts. The women have also been invited to develop their own vegetable garden within the garden on a dedicated perimeter.

The first step was to set up the beds under and beside the greenhouse. Grass strips are maintained between the beds to prevent run-off during heavy summer rains.
