Planting trees in the Garden of Skills, Eswatini

The Garden of Skills is a pilot project in agroforestry whose objective is to promote agroecological practices by becoming a training center in agroforestry.

Thus, following the principles of agroforestry, the women in charge of the garden have planted trees with several objectives. The garden being located in a mountainous area, strong winter gusts can endanger the buildings on the site. Thus, the installation of “windbreak” trees will constitute a natural protection.  Other trees have been planted for their fruits like banana, papaya or for their edible leaves like Chaya.
