Planting courgettes in Sandiare

posted in: Greenhouse, Mbour Farms

As part of the seed project involving Agrosemens, APAF and The Ivory Foundation, Thieleme, the technician in charge of greenhouses in the Mbour region, planted courgette seedlings in the Sandiare and Nobadane greenhouses. The varieties were selected to best suit local soil and climate conditions. The germination rate obtained was very good (94%) and their emergence in the greenhouse is very promising. The Zai technique was used, which consists of making holes every 50 cm, enriched deeply with compost, and kept at a lower level than the greenhouse floor so that watering does not run off and remains concentrated at the foot.
