Manufacture of bird boxes at the Grand Potager !!

It’s time to install bird boxes in your garden or on the wall of your house if you haven’t already done so!

With urbanisation and intensive agriculture, natural nesting boxes (cracks in walls, dead trees, hedges…) are becoming less and less common.

The installation of bird boxes helps to fill this lack of natural spaces and thus to ensure the survival of certain species of birds. The latter will only nest there in spring but they like to visit several shelters during the winter to make the best choice when the time comes.

Thus, on Wednesday, we led a workshop “making bird boxes” in the garden with a small group of village children. This workshop is part of the desire to protect birds in the Grand Potager, a LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) refuge since last year.
