After having made the bird boxes that will soon be scattered around the Great Vegetable Garden, the children set about decorating them. To do this, they used materials found in nature such as dead leaves, small branches, moss and flowers.
Beware, the birds do not nest in nesting boxes decorated with conventional paints such as acrylic because they are disturbed by the smell of solvents. We have used white mooon which is a chalk powder (mineral) and water to make the paint. The glue for gluing the leaves on the nesting boxes is biodegradable because it is based on water, flour and sugar.
A fun way to make children aware of bird protection!
