At Levi’s Nek farm, another greenhouse has been specially prepared for growing tomatoes. The young farmers have planted seedlings grown on site from organic seeds supplied by our partner Agrosemens.
Before planting, the beds were thoroughly prepared: they were reworked, restructured and then amended with compost, biochar and organic matter to provide rich, fertile soil.
Tomatoes are one of the most sought-after crops locally and represent an essential resource for the farm’s economic balance.
This development is part of an initiative supported by The Ivory Foundation, which assists the farm in its sustainable production projects.
