Wouro Hamma – Senegal

posted in: Dawady, Senegal

Wouro Hamma is one of 20 villages located on the outskirts of Dawady and monitored by the mobile medical team from the health centre, supported by Kaicedrat and The Ivory Foundation, which is responsible for monitoring pregnant women and young children.

Among these 20 villages, six – including Wouro Hamma – were selected for their ability to develop sustainable agricultural activity, made possible by the presence of a borehole.

Established in 2025, the market gardening areas are now preparing for their second growing season.
In Wouro Hamma, following the distribution of seeds by Dawady coordinators, a nursery has been set up with red onion, cabbage, pepper, lettuce and basil plants, marking a new step towards food self-sufficiency for the village.
