Maintenance of the Kambene Kafo market garden – Dawady, Senegal

Relaunched a few months ago thanks to the overburdening of the well, the shared market garden perimeter of Kambene Kafo, located near the Dawady health center, is currently entirely cultivated with bissap.
This traditional plant was chosen because of the short growing season and the late start-up of the well.

After the rainy season, Malik and Abdourahmane, the farm’s two crop managers, will be reintroducing the principles of crop association and rotation to optimize the diversity and sustainability of production.

This project is supported by The Ivory Foundation and the Fondation Marie Pierre Crosnier Mangeat.
