Dawady’s farm school is located 60km from Tambacounda in Eastern Senegal, with the local expertise of Am Be Khoun and the financial support of The Ivory foundation and ULB cooperation.
After its establishment, The Ivory Foundation commissioned Am Be Khoun, local garden operator, in 2020 to carry out an audit on the existing market gardens in the 20 villages located on the outskirts of Dawady.
The criteria were that a group of villagers was already active on an existing perimeter and that they had material needs to improve the productivity of their garden.
5 villages were selected, including that of Bourel. The fence was completely redone and the crop beds were organized with a group of women.
