At the Halfway House in Roosboom, South Africa, Designing Hope welcomes orphaned children every afternoon for academic support, outdoor games and fun activities, before serving them a meal at the end of the day. Discovering the Friends of the Vegetable Garden Box was a real source of joy for them: they were able to play Guardians of the Elements, Recipe Game, Friends of the Garden Memory, Open/Closed Fruit & Vegetable Memory, and Vegetable Dominoes. Their enthusiasm and curiosity perfectly illustrate the educational value of these games and the importance of such tools in their daily lives.
