In 2024, The Ivory Foundation added Village Pilote to its seed production program in Senegal by installing a 200 m² greenhouse dedicated to the production of reproducible peasant seeds.
The aim is to support young people in vulnerable situations by guiding them towards vocational training, agriculture being one of the avenues proposed.
On a daily basis, the greenhouse will host one of the five groups of young people in the “Oasis” program, which introduces them to various professional activities.
To this end, the greenhouse will be divided into five areas, with each group responsible for a separate plot, subdivided into three zones to allow for crop rotation.
This activity will be supervised by Blaise, the agricultural project coordinator.
