A lasting partnership has been established between the Farming our Future farm and the medical centre at Levi’s Nek in Lesotho.
The deaf and hard-of-hearing young people from the farm set up by The Ivory Foundation are given a special welcome by hospital staff who are familiar with sign language.
In return, the young people have undertaken to share their know-how by creating a growing plot inspired by the traditional ‘Keyhole’ to encourage patients to develop a family vegetable garden.
They will maintain the garden regularly with hospital staff and patient volunteers.
