Maintenance of plots at St Paul’s School – Lesotho

posted in: Lesotho, Levi's Nek Farm

At St Paul’s School in Leribe, young deaf and hard-of-hearing people enrolled in the agricultural training programme continue to maintain the plots within the school. Every day, they prepare the soil, weed and tend to the crops, thereby strengthening their practical skills in agroecology while helping to supply fresh vegetables for the school canteen. This hands-on training is an essential part of their learning, developed as part of the agricultural project supported by The Ivory Foundation for the past 10 years. In the coming months, some of them will join the Levi’s Nek farm to continue their journey and deepen their knowledge of sustainable agriculture. Their departure from the school plots will allow a new generation of students to join the garden and benefit from this practical training in turn.
