Sowing on the farm at St Paul’s School, Lesotho

posted in: Lesotho, Seedlings

At the Saint-Paul School for the Deaf in Leribe, Lesotho, a sowing activity was organised with the youngest pupils. Under the coordination of Tsephane, head of the educational farm, six agricultural students first prepared the plots. The children then took part in the sowing, learning about the basics of market gardening.
The aim of this activity is to raise their awareness of agriculture and the importance of growing one’s own food. The vegetables produced will be used to feed their school canteen. A practical educational project that combines learning and self-sufficiency. An initiative supported by The Ivory Foundation.
