New greenhouse for the Roosboom garden nursery

In Roosboom, there was an old greenhouse before the 200 m² greenhouse for market gardening was built. Although very dilapidated, it was still used as a nursery. Taking advantage of the arrival of gardeners from Levi’s Nek farm, the team undertook to rebuild a new one that was more functional and better suited to the climatic conditions.

The vertical wooden posts are connected by a tubular steel structure, ensuring good stability over time.

A 40% white shade net was chosen to replace the old black fabric, which attracted excessive heat. This new covering filters the light while maintaining a milder temperature, ideal for germination and the development of young plants.

Inside, new seedling trays have been installed and will be fitted with internal crossbars to facilitate harvesting. Each tray has a removable 40% shade net cover, providing adjustable protection from the sun and high temperatures, as well as from pests (rodents, crickets, grasshoppers).
