Children from the Halfway House in Roosboom (South Africa) had the opportunity to exchange with those from the Bercy School, as part of the educational garden bridge initiative set up by Designing Hope.
After several video exchanges, during which everyone had the chance to introduce themselves — in French for the South African children and in English for the young Parisians — and discover each other’s environments, with the contrast between a disadvantaged township and a large European city, the children of Roosboom continued this remote encounter by creating a large collective drawing for their new French friends.
It was a moment of sharing, creativity and openness beyond borders, forging lasting bonds between the children and their gardens.
