The Traversine Villiot garden, surrounded by apartment buildings, benefits from an open-ground layout, which is an advantage compared to the Bercy roof terrace, but suffers from a lack of sunlight, especially during the winter period.
This makes the garden a breeding ground for slugs and snails, which proliferate by the hundreds.
To counter this aggression without using chemicals, we use our compost as a decoyâŠ
Indeed, slugs and snails enjoy taking refuge in it during the day, attracted by its odor and moist atmosphere.
All thatâs left to do is lift the plant matter, collect our greedy guests and move them away from the vegetable garden.
For the first few days, the daily collection is close to a kilogramâŠ
Then the number diminishes as the garden population is brought under control.
